Dunes Club Reopens With New Greens  Myrtle Beach
The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, one of America's 100 Greatest Courses according to Golf Digest, has reopened after the successful completion of a greens restoration project. Led by Rees Jones, the Dunes Club installed A-1 bent grass greens. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Rees Jones' father, in 1948. The Dunes Club also restored all the greens to their original shape and made changes to the first, eighth, 13th, 16th and 18th greens that allowed them to remain consistent with the design's original intent and to handle the increased speed of the new grass. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is one of the nation's most decorated courses. It was ranked No. 78 on Golf Digest's 2003 list of America's 100 Greatest Courses and No. 15 on the magazine's list of the America's 100 Greatest Public Courses. The Dunes is also a member of Golf Magazine's Top 100 You Can Play and Golfweek's Top 100 Classical Courses (pre-1960).

Sea Trail's Maples Course Reopens  North Myrtle Beach
Sea Trail Plantation’s Maple’s Course has officially reopened to the public after undergoing a half million dollar renovation project, highlighted by a conversion to bentgrass greens. Sea Trail Plantation’s 6,797-yard Dan Maple’s Course opened in 1985 and challenges players with its distinctive use of waste bunkers and scenic views from the five holes along Calabash Creek. Over the past few months, the Maple’s course was upgraded from Bermudagrass to A1/A4 blended bentgrass. Due to the increased speed associated with bentgrass greens, Sea Trail Plantation redesigned several greens complexes to reduce their undulation. In addition to the greens work, Sea Trail Plantation modified five tee boxes, refurbished the existing bunkers, refined the cart paths and updated the landscaping to improve air circulation throughout the course.
